The Girlfriend returns, links from Hollinger and Adande

JA Adande breaks down the ongoing comparison of D-Will and CP3 here.
John Hollinger breaks down the road woes for the Utah Jazz here.
Sltrib recap here.
Adande’s always does his homework and will go down as one of the top sports writers of our time.
Hollinger is a number’s guy and his point is something that as Utah Jazz fans we have not wanted to talk about, but on the Weekly Utah Jazz Podcast we have been fretting this stretch of the season for a long time.
By the way Hollinger’s playoff predictions have 5 teams ending at 51 31 how crazy would that be.
Trib is just a recap of the game.
Back to the Girlfriend post from a while back.
Generally when looking for a wife you date the kind of people that you could marry.
Once again the Jazz are like the girlfriend, we just got done with one of our best months together. You two took a trip to Vegas and went camping at Bear lake, she gave it up, a lot,(Boston,Denver,LA,NO wins) and it was a great month in your ongoing relationship.
Then she tells you that she wants to go on a road trip to visit her family. You have heard stories about her Dad (a Doctor) her mom (a Lawyer) and you definitely don’t feel up to par with her families standards or expectations, but you have just had an incredible month in your relationship, so you decide to go (and it is on the schedule).
It goes good for the first couple of days you have breakfast with her family(Toronto). You beat her Dad (a former state basketball star) in a game of horse(Indiana). Things seem to be going great, Then her parents ask about what you are going to do for a career and you can only say, “I don’t know yet, I am still taking generals”(Atlanta on the back to back).
You realize that you love this girl and want to spend forever with her, but will not be able to handle the road trips to see her parents for the rest of your life(Miami, Orlando). You don’t know if you can handle all the pressure of living up to her parents expectations.
Can we assume that the Jazz will some how flip the switch and win in the playoffs at least 4-6 road games against NO, LA, SA, POR, CLE, BOS, ORL. I don’t know. I love this girl. She has given me so many memories, let’s hope so. -S

This blog is sadly in need of comments so I will give you one and disagree slightly with where you took the analogy. I think if the girlfriend represents the Jazz, then the visits to her family are not where you fail, but wear you learn her weaknesses. I.E., you find that in the presence of her family she is a spoiled brat. Or maybe the road trip should be to your parents where she completely embarasses you by telling of color jokes at dinner and insulting your mother’s cooking. Yeah- that’s what the Jazz are like on the road. You brag to your family about them but when you show up with them they just can’t live up to the hype and you spend the next day swearing up and down to your parents that you have never seen her like this and she must have been nervous or off her meds.
Erin seriously said it best. If you’re going to liken the Jazz to a girlfriend, you have to point out the inevitable embarrassments that you will encounter by having to rely on her, like when she stands you up on a double date so you’re left being 3rd wheel to your brother and his girlfriend who, let’s admit, is a lot prettier than your girlfriend anyway.
Thanks for sharing information with us..
