Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post: “Chauncey Billups proclaimed this as the opportune moment for his team to take a hard look in the mirror, but perhaps no one has already beat themselves up more than he has. The veteran Nuggets guard insisted he will become a more prominent voice in the locker room, the film room and the huddle as the team searches for some sort of chemistry in order to survive a rugged seven-game stretch run, five of which are against teams currently in a playoff spot. ‘I don’t think it’s that complicated,’ Billups said. ‘For one, I think you just, when you’re in a position like this you’ve got to look in the mirror and you’ve got to look at what you can do better. And for me, as the leader of the team, I probably haven’t been doing a good enough job of leading the team in game situations and even out of game situations, film sessions, and stuff like that. I probably haven’t taken a big enough piece of the pie of the responsibility as probably I should have. I know it’s going to be easy to point to (acting coach Adrian Dantley’s) inexperience or us not having Kenyon (Martin), but I think that really you have to point to the leaders of the team, first and foremost myself and say have to do more. Period. We have to do more.’ ”

In the NBA, where ever your team is competing in the league, you start to hate the guys at the top. Early in the 2009-2010 season, it is Boston, Denver, and maybe even the Lakers (cause let’s face it, we don’t need a reason to always hate the Lakers). But as a Jazz fan, I have found myself with a different attitude. Yes, I want my team to compete and be up there with the teams that are hated because of their winning record around the league. But this year, as a Jazz fan, I find myself looking at the bottom of the NBA league standings more than the top. I am watching the losing records which have captivated me and have me screaming at ESPN every time they show another loss by a team more pathetic than the Knicks!

Unless you have been in a hole (or you don’t eat, drink, and live for Jazz basketball like we do at theutahjazzblog.com) you should know by now that the Utah Jazz own the unprotected draft pick of the New York Knicks for next year’s NBA draft. For those who don’t know what that means, it means that where ever the Knicks fall in the draft order, the Jazz will take their place and we will keep their draft pick. At the moment, if the Knicks stay the course, we are looking at a fantastic pick. Last year the Sacramento Kings finished with the worst record in the league at 17-65, the exact same number that I am projecting for the Knicks if they keep their fantastic record of one win out of every five games. Unfortunately for Sacramento, they didn’t receive the first pick in the draft, they actually received the fourth pick, but it was still a top 5 pick in the NBA draft. The last time the Jazz had a top 5 pick was the year they drafted Deron Williams and we all know how that has worked out for the Jazz!

For most of you, this isn’t new news and I appreciate you reading my rambling thoughts so far, but this is why I am writing this article, the hate. The pure and unmanageable hate that I have in my heart for the Sacramento Kings, the L.A. Clippers, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the biggest sucker of them all, the freaking New Jersey Nets. I see these teams as our common enemy that could cost us a top five pick in next year’s draft. I have no doubt that Minnesota will improve as well as the Clippers, when they get their guys healthy again. But I see New Jersey as the tanking losers as they are and I won’t stand back and mildly pity them for their pathetic record like I have done for others like them in the past. NOT THIS YEAR! So join me in my hatred, curse the ground they walk on by cheering for those like the Nets, the Clippers, and the Kings. Prop them up and help them get better so we can all enjoy the fruits of Isaiah Thomas’s labor.

Quick Quick who leads the league in Double Doubles. I Know I Know it’s Dwight Howard. You are absolutely wrong, it’s David Lee(who I would love to sign) from the New York Knickerbockers. One of the reasons for this is because of the fast paced game the Knicks play.

The Jazz have struggled with fast-paced high-possession teams this year and more recently our two games against the Suns showed a lot of our weaknesses.

Transition Defense, Scoring on the Zone, and Uptempo play.
The Knicks will exploit these weaknesses even more than the suns did the Knicks just don’t have as much talent as the Suns so the probably won’t win. Everything that the suns do was the brain child of now Knick Coach Mike D’Antoni. You can assume that he watched the film from the past two games and will use our weaknesses against us.

Predictions-

4 Jazz players will have double doubles

Deron will have close to thirty points 27-28.

Boozer will not be sitting at the end of this game.

Jazz win by 6
