Huge Game tonight….Injuries will not help Jazz @ Suns Preview
With AK out, Deron and Matthews GTD’s the Utah Jazz will have a hard time winning tonight. Phoenix is pissed off with the last two games they have played against us (both double digit leads gone to pot). I expect a high scoring affair and with a back to back
I think we lose tonight Suns 124 Jazz 110. If we win this game it will count as 1.5 (cause of the tie breaker) and it will put us up 3.5 games instead of if we lose, only being up 1 game.

This week’s Utah Jazz Podcast is dedicated to all the The Desperate Housewives out there.
Matchups Smatchups…Utah Jazz Host Minnesota Peskywolves
I’m going to be honest, I think we lose this game. It has that stink to it, you know the Morpheus stink…It disgusts me.
To say that we have problems with the Peskywolves would be an understatement. The Wolves are 5-29 on the road which is just plain crappy. Darko Milici is out that may help.
AK. MEMO, and PRICE are listed as day-to-day. I think Memo should play or will play.
Two Matchups to watch tonight. D-Will/Flynn and Jefferson/?
Al Jefferson is having a ridiculous year this year andis not getting the obvious love he should because his team sucks. Speaking of Love, remeber him, he torched us the last time these two teams met.
Jazz have lost one game in their green Jersey’s, which they will be wearing tonight because of St. Patrick’s Day. For drinkers, I can’t think of a better holiday in the world. The day has no other purpose than to go out and get hammered. Your welcome World.
Can you imagine where the Utah Jazz would be if they played the first half like the second half, O somewhere around 50-15 looking looking to over take the Lakers for homecourt throughout.
What to look for.
Kyle Korver and the long ball- Over his past ten game KK is shooting 50% from downtown 13-26
Deron Williams- Could have another one of these nights.
I JUST WANNA BE SUCCESSFUL
According to Elias Sports Bureau Deron Williams packed 35 points and 13 assists into 32 minutes, 34 seconds of action to lead the Jazz to a 133-110 win over the Rockets. Get this: there have been more than 200 games in NBA history in which a player had both 35-or-more points and 13-or-more assists; but Williams became the first player in NBA history to reach those totals in a game in which he played less than 33 minutes. The previous record was held by Norm Nixon of the San Diego Clippers, who had 35 points and 17
assists in 36 minutes in a win over the Mavericks in 1983.”
Having said all this, the combination of players that the Peskywolves have really worries me.
PeskyWolves 103- Utah Jazz 99.

Utah Jazz run into the only team playing better than them…the Milwuakee Bucks
A lot has been made about the Bucks Defense and rightly so they held the red hot Utah Jazz to 40.5 % shooting and only 87 points when they have been putting up 107 or so over the past couple weeks.
The Story will be Boozer getting a double T with 15 seconds left and some bad decisions late, but the Bucks are a very good defensive team and made plays when they had to.
AK also left with a calf strain. Stay close to twitter to find out if he will play on Sunday @ OKC or not.
I would have liked to win this game and If we lose to OKC I would feel more comfortable about the Road trip. If we lose both of them and head into next week with 2 straight losses.
STAT of the NIGHT 0-10 from three point line.

The Utah Jazz front court really didn’t play last night. Combined, Deron and Matthews went for 6-21 for 17 points. Midway through the third I noticed that Deron was not wearing his brace, I don’t know if that effected his play but it looked like he was fine with not talking the open Jumpers coming of the curl. Matthews may have had the home town jitters and tried a little to hard. He played great d as always, the shots just weren’t falling tonight.
Memo continued is streak of good play and finished with 20 and 11
Boozer was a beast until the last 2o seconds. However I don’t think we would have won had he made that bucket instead of losing it out bounds. It would have given us a better chance but not the win. I will take 26-14 any day of the week. Let’s hope he has some left in the box for Sunday night’s game.
CJ started out cold but led the Jazz comeback late, I don’t like him taking 16 shots in any game even if he is on fire. I would rather have Deron take more shots here is why. Cj doesn’t focus on rebounding which means he falls back on D when Deron drives or takes the jump shot. Deron has been more focused on Rebounds this year which leaves over the top passes eaiser because Deron is going for the rebound and CJ is taking the shot. Just my thoughts.
AK leaving the game really hurt the Jazz on the Defensive side of the ball. He finishes that game out I think we win.
Gotta give credit where credit is due, the Bucks played really well last night.
Utah Jazz @ Milwuakee Bucks Preview
The Jazz are about to face what could possibly be their toughest test of this road trip. The Milwaukee Bucks are playing great right now and are coming off a huge win over the mighty Boston Celtics. This should be a fun game to watch as well as a good test to see really how well the Jazz are playing as a team. They are going to need great outside shooting again to get by this Bucks team unscathed. If the guards are shooting well, it will open up the middle for Millsap, Boozer and Okur to do some damage inside.
Andrew Bogut is looking stellar. He had a monster dunk over Big Baby the other night that looked pretty insane for the former Ute. He is having a pretty good year and has been fairly healthy for the first time in who knows how long. Look for him to have a big game. If the rookie Brandon Jennings gets hot and takes control of his team, the Jazz could have a lot to handle.
Despite the Buck’s good play as of late, I am still picking the Jazz to take this game. Boozer is due for another monster game and the whole team is shooting too well to bet against them (not that I’m betting). A win in Milwaukee is just what the Jazz need to take some big time momentum into OKC. Look for the Jazz to start strong and hold strong. Utah Jazz 104/ Bucks 93. JB
Be Grateful Utah Jazz Fans, We Could be Dealing with These Problems .
I love Bill Simmons. So much in fact, I want him to be my second wife if they bring polygamy back. Anyway, here are some other situations that the Utah Jazz could be in.
Q: Is there any downside to the Knicks signing any former college player with the last name “James,” giving him No. 23 and selling out the Garden with $5 tickets and giveaways? Wouldn’t the entire stadium not immediately purchase the 23 “James” jersey at the gate? Could LeBron possibly watch this game with the Garden going completely bananas all wearing No. 23 James jerseys and not think, I have to move to New York? He already has a 100-foot billboard outside the Garden. Is there any other equivalent of this in sports marketing? If the Sox became the worst team in the AL East, would you be OK with Jeter or CC posters outside Fenway? That’s how low the Knicks are as a franchise. I just walk by the Garden every day and smile at the LeBron poster.
– Mike, New YorkSG: I get e-mails like this all the time. Knicks fans have lost their minds. Attending Monday night’s Hawks-Knicks game in person, I was stunned by the devotion of the MSG crowd; they cheered like a playoff spot was at stake. If the Knicks were smart, they would be mailing LeBron’s crew these game DVDs with anonymous notes like, “Check out our crowd — we made this much noise on a Monday night when we were 20 games under .500. Imagine what would happen if you were here?” You know what’s really incredible? The Knicks have sold nearly 2,000 more season tickets for the 2010-11 season with what’s really turning into the greatest “Illusion of Regret” sales campaign ever. So why not sign a random “James” and give him No. 23 for a few weeks? Might as well.
Q: In his recent letter to season-ticket holders enticing us to renew or upgrade our Wolves 2010-2011 tickets for up to 50 percent off, your nemesis David Kahn gives reasons the team is heading in the right direction, including that the team has built “a coaching staff that has collected 15 championship rings.” At first I thought, “Wow, that’s impressive.” Then I started thinking: OK, I get that Kurt Rambis has four rings as a player and two as an assistant coach and that Bill Laimbeer has two as a player. But where did Dave Wohl, Reggie Theus and J.B. Bickerstaff collect seven more championship rings? Then a knot grew in my stomach as I thought, “No! He wouldn’t! He couldn’t!” I looked up the coaching bios and found that Dave Wohl was an assistant coach on a Lakers championship team, which I guess is legit. However, as best as I can tell the other six championships include Wohl’s two Ivy League titles as a player at Penn almost 40 years ago, Theus’ WAC tournament title as a coach at New Mexico State, and — yes, my worst fears were realized — Laimbeer’s three championships as coach of the WNBA Detroit Shock! Now I feel even more slimy with Kahn as my team’s GM. He makes me want to scream, William Shatner-like, “Kahn!!! Kahn!!!”
– Pete, St., Louis Park, Minn.SG: Look on the bright side: You get to wait another two-plus years for someone shooting 30 percent in a Euro league right now.
Slam Magazine gives Jerry Sloan some props…
I gotta give this one to SLCDUNKÂ he has more Jazz spies than I do. Anyway here is the article
Another article about Wesley Matthews Jr.
http://ow.ly/1idd8
Here is the SI.com Article on the Utah Jazz (Link)
D-Will and Rose don’t dissapoint…C.J. goes M.J. on the Bulls.
The Chicago Bulls are a very bad defensive team, especially when they are playing the number one offense in the league with out their best big man (Noah). I really don’t think it would have mattered much if he was playing, the Jazz still would have Ripped the Bulls.
The Deron Williams and Derrick Rose Matchup lived up to the hype and both were fantastic; Deron getting the win and the better stat line at 28-17 compared to Rose’s 25-13.
I think Deron’s performance last night was better than the 35 point eruption last week against the Rockets because he added 17 dimes which accounts for at least 34 other points not counting three balls. I don’t want to Jinx anything or get all crazy on everyone, but Deron could make first team all NBA this year. Obviously he dunk on Rose was sick and as Boler said on the Broadcast finally Rose gets posterized after yakking on so many other people this year. Here is a pick of the YAK.
The Jazz finally got off to hot start which has been desperately needed over the past seven games. Wesley Matthews and Mehmet Okur along with Deron Williams made sure that the Utah Jazz got off to a good start.
C.J. Miles went MJ on the Bulls. .
C.J. had a great moment last night and maybe all the criticism he has been getting is being channeled into making him a better player. However, A wise man once said, “That will never happen again.” Miles shot just 41.1% from the field in February and is averaging 1.1 three-pointers per game this season. At best he’s a 3-point specialist while Andrei Kirilenko and Kyle Korver are healthy.
Jerry was a class act last night putting in Othyus Jeffers in for a few seconds before the half and at the end of the game. Jeffers is from Chi-town and it was reported that he had 150 friends and family attending the game last night. Some thoughts from the Daily Herald (Chicago) on Jerry Sloan
Paul Millsap nearly had a double double of the bench last night and finished with 16-9 including 6 offensive boards. After last year’s run of DD’s when Boozer was out I thought that Millsap had reached his ceiling as a player. This year with a new role on offense and playing time with Boozer he has developed two things that I didn’t see last year. First, the well documented shot from 12-18 feet, Second the overlooked addition of the left hand and little push shot. Maybe he adds the three ball to his game next year.
Wesley Matthews had five steals and two early threes that is helping people forget the play of Ronnie Brewer very quickly.
The Utah Jazz did not turn the ball over in the first quarter last night, which is obviously one of the main reasons that they got of to such a great start.
Here are the NBA.com highlights from last night’s game. The Youtube highlights will be up before the Weekend.
