I just read in an article today that the Utah Jazz has only had a pick above 13 once in franchise history. That was the Deron Williams pick, which worked out pretty well for us. Tonight the Jazz have a chance (though a slim one) to get the number one pick in the 2010-2011 NBA draft. I am convinced that if they did land number one, the Jazz would pick Evan Turner and NOT John Wall. However, I believe that this draft class is slim talent-wise and if the Jazz don’t land a top three pick, they had better try hard to trade up. In fact, I think that you could make the argument that the only draft possibilities are Wall, Turner, Favors and Cousins. Tonight will require a great deal of luck, and as we all know, the Utah Jazz aren’t usually known for their luck (see meeting the Lakers in the playoffs the last three years and injuries). It will be interesting to see who the Jazz send. I am kind of hoping the Jazz send Scott Layden since he is the one who gave up the pick in the first place. I also wouldn’t mind if they sent Kosta Koufus because that guy is just lucky to still be in the league. Hopefully tonight is the night that Jazz luck changes.
