Mehmet Okur scored early and often on his way to a new career high of 43 points, leading the Utah Jazz to a win over the Indian Pacers.

First Half Highlights

Okur shot 13-19 from the floor including 3-4 from threes and was 14-15 from the line taking advantage of his inside outside game. Mehmet looked unstoppable so much so that after hitting his third three of the game he blew of his right hand and put his pistol back in its holster.

All five starters scored in double figures,Andrei Kirilenko and Deron Williams both had double doubles. The Jazz forced 18 turnovers and shot 34-37 from free throw line which was ultimately the Pacers undoing.

Deron Williams had the shot of the night. With 1:24 left in the game Deron hit a 32 footer as the shot clock expired. The shot put the Jazz up seven sealed the deal.

Game Recap

I don't remember Danny Granger being this good at New Mexico, but man he is the real deal. He has added the three-pointer to his arsenal and gets it off hyper-quick. I think the pacers have a young nucleus to build around with Granger and Dunleavy , but they need to get some young bigs and figure out way to get a point guard.

Note- Things between Deron Williams and Dick Bavetta got chippy a few times during time outs, D-will was very close to getting a "T" in the first half. I sat next to a rather larger lady so Bryce and I got a little closer than usual, and when the bear came up for the fourth quarter she almost fainted from yelling so loud "I love you BEAR. I LOVE YOU BEAR", she was probably 40.
