The Jazz bench scored 50, AK had a double double, but Paul Millsap was the highlight of the night with 24 points and 9 rebounds in 32 minutes of play. It wasn't necessarily the stats that made it amazing, it was the way that he dominated almost by himself part of the third and all of the fourth quarter.
For about 8 minutes in the fourth quarter, Millsap pulled out his inner "Black Mamba","Hibachi" or "Lebron game 6" face. He was unstoppable, uncontrollable, and literally a beast; a big, hairy, mean, rebounding beast that was eating the Clippers. Literally he ripped Kaman's arm off and starting eating it in one hand, while rebounding and dunking with the other. We weren't playing slouches either. Millsap was doing this against Kaman, Camby and Thornton.
The best part about the whole thing, he knew it, the bench knew it, the Clippers knew it, and more importantly their fans knew it. After his fourth straight rebound, followed by a putback the crowd starting booing the home team. He single handedly broke the Clippers last night. He helped the Jazz go on a 21-5 stretch and pull away late for a 3-0 start.
Stat of the Day--- So far the Jazz bench is averaging 42 points per game. This Ak thing is looking pretty good thus far.
