I hope that Okur's family is OK, but couldn't he wait until D-Will was back before leaving. I've been thinking how are we going to win this game without Okur. A Miracle is the only thing that comes to mind.
So Jerry is stuck with a crazy decision tomorrow night, who do you start in place of Memo and how do run the rotations. Here are the three scenarios I see happening.
#1 Start Boozer @ the 5 Milsap @ the 4 and the other three starters as usual. You would have to bring Koufos or Collins in for Milsap and then slide Boozer over to the 4 for a couple of minutes and bring Milsap back in to give Boozer a rest because this is the first of a back to back.
#2 Start Collins or Koufous in Place of Okur take the hit on offense during the first quarter and then run the usual rotations but in the fourth keep Milsap on the floor giving him about 37 minutes.
#3 Start Boozer @ the 5 Ak @ the 4 which is a bad match-up against E.B. and then run rotations as usual running Running Milsap in Ak's spot and Korver in his regular spot. In the fourth quarter you have Boozer @5, Milsap @the 4, AK@ the 3, Korver/Brewer @ the 2 and Good Knight@ the point.
I would feel really comfortable with any of these scenarios if D-will was back, however all of these situations cause some bad match-ups for the Jazz. Okur is not going to be back until after the road trip, making this an ugly week for us for sure.
We HAVE to have a big game from Booz tomorrow night I'm taking 29 15 or something like that. The bench needs to get somewhere in the 45 point range, It's possible but I don't think it will happen. Start Iguodola and Young if you have them on your fantasy team they could have a huge night.
I'm looking back to last year's Christmas road trip without Okur and not having him, killed us, basically keeping us from home court throughout the playoffs. In May/June we could be looking back to this week without Okur and say yup that's the week that killed us.
Wait,Wait, what about the Korver factor, I don't think Korver will go off on his old team, but just maybe, just maybe their are a few of his old Philly groupies that took care of him last night and he goes postal on 76ers. By postal, I mean, 25 points 6-9 from the three point line or something crazy like that.
Prediction--- 76ers 108 Jazz 92. Boozer has a big game but not big enough.
Matchup of the night--- Um......................all of them.
Stat of the night---The Utah Jazz are 3-9 over the past three seasons without Okur. Here is to hoping that goes to 4-9 after tomorrow. no comments

Take your mind of the Knickerbocker loss. Pop some popcorn, grab some chips, gather the family around the computer and grab a big, warm glass of Utah Jazz Podcast.
If you are Dave Taylor, pull the knives out of your best friends back, go buy a Utah Jazz Jersey (a pink Korver one), gets some tissues, grab two random girls that don't care about Jazz basketball, tell all your blacklisted married friends to come over and enjoy some good old Utah Jazz Pod casting. no comments

The Jazz are 4-0 thanks to an off-season trade for Knight. Imagine the Jazz right now with Hart in the game, we would be lucky at 2-2 but probably sitting in S.A's spot at 1-3. Don't get me wrong, I love Price and even more so that he is the only UVU product in professional sports, but he his having an awful start. I imagine that Knight will be the backup to Deron when Deron comes back from this frustrating injury.
The Jazz pulled out a victory last night against, what I believe, will be a playoff team the Portland Trailblazers. They did this by hitting their free throws 21-22 without Korver even shooting one; and by playing solid D in the second half. It appears that the Jazz are not fouling as much as they did last year. It may just be me, but it seems through these first four games the other team has not gotten into the penalty as early as last year.
Jimmy predicted the match up of the night would be CJ/AK versus Outlaw. I think we won that match up however they hit 10 three pointers on us. With Roy being able to drive on just about everyone he killed us with his drive and dish. Pryzbilla also killed us on the glass in the first half.
Overall I think we played much better in the second half obviously because we overcame an eleven point deficit to win a possession by possession game.
What to watch tonight.
TNT has its usual NBA Double header Philly@Orlando (I say Orlando by 6), Houston@ Portland (Houston by 18).
Broncos Vs. Browns on NFL network (I think Broncos by 10).
TCU @ UTAH Game of the year in the MWC, basically an elimination game for the BCS if you look at the remaining schedule. (TCU by 12)
(Side Note) I am conceding a Utah victory over BYU already with it being 3 weeks away. TCU took all the BYU life I had left two weeks ago, and BYU's defense as I have been saying all year (yup even after a 59-0 win over UCLA) is very suspect. It is as if In the Fourth quarter of the Utah State game they gave us some of the Cache Valley Water to drink and we haven't been the same since. It is a Bad case of Cache Valley Defense Diarrhea.

The Utah Jazz looking to go 5-0 before there fist big road trip of the year. If the Jazz win tonight Jerry Sloan will be the first Coach to win 1000 games with one team. The Jazz will also start of 5-0 for the first time since 2000. The Jazz aren't scoring as many points as they did last year at an average of 103 but there defense is only giving up 85.5 points a game. A lot of that stat is due to the teams we have played, but also I believe as a team they are committed to playing strong defense and not fouling as much.
Ak might not play tonight it looks like it will be a game-time decision. He has the flu I think he caught it at the Fleur Di Lis along with other things.
I don't see any combination of scenarios for Seattle to win this game. The Jazz are too good, deep and smart to lose this game.
Spread-- Jazz -11 seems about right because AK might not play.
Match-up of the night --- Durrant Vs. Brewer I think they will end up with around the same point total 15-18, but Durrant will lead in all other stats except for steals.
Stat of the night-- The Sonics haven't scored more than 90 points in any game this season.
Our Prediction---Jazz 103-Sonics 84. Six players in double figures Boozer, Brewer, Korver, Okur,Knight and Millsap. Boozer/Knight get double doubles. no comments

Big game tonight. The Jazz have the chance of going 4-0 if they beat a team that won 3 of 4 against them last year. It will be interesting to see how the Jazz come out of the gate. If they come out sluggish and take 5 or 6 jump shots to start out, then I think we have a good chance of losing this game.
Brandon Roy is the x-factor in this one. He has proven to be a legitimate scorer, and I am interested to see how Brewer does against him (if that is who is assigned to guard him). Another Blazer player I like is Travis Outlaw. He seems to play well against us and I think he is one of the more underrated players in the west.
One thing I will be watching tonight is how Memo does against big Joel. Memo played better in LA (scoring wise). I'm sure he wants to get his 3 point shot to fall (as do we). We might need it tonight.
Match-up of the night--Has to be CJ/AK and Outlaw. Roy will get his points, but Outlaw may determine what kind of game we play tonight.
Stat of the Night--I'm still looking at turnovers. I'm impressed so far...let's keep it up! Portland can get out and run us off of turnovers, so I say that may be the stat to look at tonight.
Prediction--I think that the Jazz will be more comfortable with Price and Knight running the point. I will go ahead and say Jazz 99 Portland 88.
Prediction 2--I have a feeling DWILL won't play until Sunday at NY. Sounds like he is still in pain. He is listed as doubtfull for tonight. I don't think the Jazz will want to risk coming back too early...especially against the THUNDEROOS.
